Guidance for Establishing a Culture of Effective Communication in Education

cover page
The Guidance for Establishing a Culture of Effective Communication in Education is the result of the Building Resilience through Inclusive Education Systems (BRIES) activity. BRIES looked at how education systems in Europe have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the lessons learnt, and how to turn the crisis into an opportunity to build resilience and foster well-being.

This guidance aims to encourage decision-makers (school leaders, policy-makers and public education authorities at all governance levels, depending on specific national contexts) to reflect on the communication structures and processes in place in their education systems. The intention is to establish a culture of effective communication in normal times that allows stakeholders to be prepared for times of crisis.

The guidance is an open-source resource and is available in all 25 Agency languages. You are free to access, use, modify and disseminate the guidance with appropriate credit to the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education.
